Abstract

The main objective of this article is to gather elements for a reflection on some of the main scientific sources used by Friedrich Nietzsche to formulate his hypotheses on the nature of the criminal, the relationships between genius, madness and crime, and the main causes of criminality, in dialogue with the psychiatry and criminal anthropology of his time.

Keywords: criminality; atavism; degeneration; madness; heredity.
