Resumo

Scientific research on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can be complemented by combining qualitative methods. As a diagnosed autistic using the Alexander Technique, I initially present foundational references for an Autistic Alexander Technique perspective. After reviewing Giacoia’s reconstruction of Nietzsche’s depth psychology of ressentiment and amoral self-empowerment, I assess Nietzsche’s relevance to the practical challenge of developing a self-caring lifestyle for autistics in today’s world that goes beyond specialized disciplines such as philosophy, psychology, or music. My conclusion, positive for autistics, is that Nietzsche and F. M. Alexander both favored self-empowerment, psychophysical integration, and amoralism.
