Abstract

This paper’s inquiry will be developed through an interaction with the book The Falling Sky, written by Bruce Albert and Davi Kopenawa, which will be an articulation shaft for the discussions purposed here. It will be studied with support of anthropological studies from Amerindian ethnology, mainly the
works by Bruce Albert and Eduardo Viveiros de Castro, and dialoguing with contemporary discussions about ecology. With it, this research will seek for a non-anthropocentric conception of ecology in Kopenawa’s thought able to challenge our political concepts too centered in us humans as the only historical agents, which have been doing no more than putting at risk our own conditions of existence on this planet. This conception of ecology is made possible through the cosmological comprehension of nature present in Yanomami cosmology and brings a different way of dealing with the cosmic entropy.
