Abstract

This paper is an exploratory work of a field of possible relationships between the work of Theodor Adorno and Early German Romanticism, particularly the work of the young Friedrich Schlegel (1797–1855). We focus on three possible affinities between both authors. First, we consider a series of comments that allow us to construct the possible affinities between Schlegel and Adorno. Second, we analyze the rejection of the idealistic aesthetic that both maintain for the benefit of not violating the object. And third, we present the idea of a type of critique, such as the immanent critique, that would allow recreating a non-restrictive judgment on the object. Finally, we evaluate the possible difficulties that our own approach could have.
Keywords: Aesthetic – Critique – Idealism – Objectivity – Subjectivity
