Abstract

This article proposes to follow from the question : what is a theatrocracy ? What is the idea that we wish to lead our reader to develop or formulate, by referring to theatrocracy as a political paradigm ? As the text develops, we are committed to highlighting theatricracy as a new political paradigm. We understand this new form that political practice has developed as the formation of a model in which societies are based on theatrical action, on the relationship between acting and representation of subjects. Contemporary theatricracy, which is the subject of discussion in this text, occurs through the constant representative action of others in social relations, with the manifestation of functions, actions, representations and practices that promote interaction and connection between different subjects. We are led by the reading that with the advent of social networks, political space has become increasingly digitized and less analog. Therefore, it is the formation of narratives and speeches with expressive and public focus in an environment which, laws and guidelines are still complex and difficult to define. This creates a new space for political action, an extremely rich but also dangerous space, because the operation within this environment can intensify the processes of removal from the common environment. We see the importance in discussing this topic given these characteristics of theatricracy.
