Abstract

The purpose of this article is to establish the Classic of Changes (Yijing 易经) as the source of the processual ontology that defines Chinese philosophy from its inception to the present day. Only this allows us to reflect upon technique and science in China through parameters established over the centuries by the Chinese tradition itself, that is, as a cosmotechnique of its own, while refuting the realities outside Greece. To do so, it will be necessary to analyze the Classic of Changes through the following aspects: its origin and its relationship with Chinese mythology, its composition through 64 hexagrams, its philosophical meaning and, finally, its contribution to the understanding of Chinese philosophy (Confucianism, Daoism and Buddhism) as a philosophy of interrelationality. Intrinsic to the purpose of this text is a project of decolonization of thought that uses as a method the Chinese interpretation of the universe of S&T through the philosophies of that country. For this reason, the careful study of the Yijing (易经) is indispensable and complements Yuk Hui’s work on the Chinese cosmotechnical notion.

Keywords: Classic of Changes; cosmotechnics; Chinese philosophy; processual ontology.
