Abstract

This article seeks interpretation of the importance and use of imagery writing for Walter Benjamin´s philosophy (1892-1940). Therefore, we highlight the use of allegorical expressiveness within its repertoire and image archive. The assumptions for taking this investigation guided by the way, in which this philosophical attitude participates in the deconstruction of one of the solidified bases in the philosophical tradition: the logic of continuity. Thus, when using images and allegories, Benjamin seems to bequeath to us other possible directions for reflective thinking. This is because the allegories protect a rich example of images that provide breaks with the horizontal writing pertinent to that logical form questioned. Our script will go through an indication of the plan from witch allegories arise for Benjamin´s thought and finally, we collect from Benjamin´s work the foundations of allegorical thinking.
