Abstract

This paper discusses the emergence of anti-racist digital activism in Brazil based on the stories of some of the most notable initiatives of the last five years. The main example is the case of Afrodengo, the largest group for relationships between black people on Facebook. The bibliography about race, racism and information technologies is analyzed. The myth of black technophobia is deconstructed. The need for a critical review about whiteness in studies on race and technology is defended.
