Submission Guidelines
Dissonancia accepts submissions regardless of the authors' academic title, as long as the contribution is within the journal's thematic scope. Dissonancia does not charge fees for the submission, evaluation or publication of manuscripts.
Contributions can be submitted to the Free Topic Section or to the Thematic Section . The Free Topic Section works on a rolling basis, accepting submissions throughout the year. The Thematic Section works through calls for papers with specific deadlines (please check the active thematic calls).
The submitted material must be in accordance with the journal's formatting guidelines.
The journal accepts submissions in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
The name of the author should not appear on the submitted material. Please check the instructions available in Ensuring a Blind Review.
The submitted material must be original and unpublished and must not be under evaluation for publication in another platform. The author must commit not to submit the same work to another platform before Dissonancia's editorial process is complete.

Submissions should be made via e-mail (dissonancia@unicamp.br).
An author who had an article published in a volume of the journal can have another article published in a volume of Dissonancia one and a half years after their last publication. The same author cannot have a book review and an article published in the same volume. A manuscript that has already been assessed and rejected may not be submitted again for review.
Articles
Articles submitted to the Free Section should fit the Focus and Scope of the journal.
Articles submitted to the Thematic Section should fit the theme and the proposal of the thematic call for papers and be within its submission deadline. Please check the active thematic calls.
The article can be written in Portuguese, Spanish or English. If written in Portuguese or Spanish, it should also have a title, an abstract and keywords in English. If written in English, it should have a title, an abstract and keywords in Portuguese. If you are not able to write an abstract in Portuguese, please contact the editors by email.
Length of abstracts: max. 250 words.
Number of keywords: three to five.
Length of articles: between 30,000 and 45,000 characters (excluding spaces, abstracts, keywords and bibliographical references).
The list of references quoted throughout the article is mandatory.
The article must follow the journal's formatting guidelines.
Book Reviews
Book reviews should debate books published in the last three years.
Book reviews submitted to the Thematic Section should fit the theme and the proposal of the thematic call for papers and be within its deadline. Please check the active thematic calls.
Book reviews can be written in Portuguese, Spanish or English and should have a title.
Book reviews should be submitted in ".odt" (Libreoffice), ".doc" or ".docx" (Microsoft Office) formats and have between 7,000 and 10,000 characters, excluding spaces and references.
Book reviews should follow the journal's formatting guidelines.
The list of references quoted throughout the review is mandatory. Book reviews should not have abstract or keywords. Minimum use of footnotes is recommended.
Translations into Portuguese
